SUSTAINABILITY

The motivation behind less

In Canada, approximately 58% of food is wasted annually, amounting to over 35 million tons each year, with a 5.3% annual increase. Most of this waste ends up in landfills, generating 56.5 million tons of methane, equivalent to 1.5 billion tons of CO2e, along with additional emissions from garbage trucks transporting the waste. This alarming situation drives us to roll up our sleeves and develop innovative solutions through a triple bottom line approach, ensuring that our strategies account for people, the planet, and profits.

United Nations Sustainable
Development Goals

In 2015, during the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the United Nations Member States provided a blueprint for “peace and prosperity for people and planet, now and into the future.” (United Nations, 2022) The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a call to action for all countries to work toward ending poverty, improving health and education, reducing inequality, and spurring economic growth while fighting climate change and preserving our oceans and forest ecosystems.*

At Minus, we actively place eight of these Goals at the core of our services.
